A Minus Symbian (and Android) Weekend

Not sure if I was trying to do this or not. But, at the end of the week where Symbian (the operating system that one of my Nokia phones uses) was officially declared to be dead (no longer new products made, support winding way down), I decided to pick up the other Nokia mobile with the just-as-dead operating system, and just see what I could do with things. Confluence of Events

Today, in the USA, we celebrate the life and movement of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We also have the inauguration of President Obama for his 2nd term in office. And then there’s the fact that this is the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. Could be an amazing year. And at the same time, speaks to a lot of reflection that the entire country should be taking note towards. All of us have to account for these moments. For one reason or another, I feel that I’m on a confluence of my own. This year will continue to be an interesting one.

Repositioning of Android, Or Me

For a good while now, I’ve been looking at whether I should be making a move to using Android as a primary platform for my mobile activities. Ok, I’ve dismissed Android. I’ve got a legitimate issue with it being a phone-based platform for me. And that’s why its my tablet platform. And it works quiet well there, even in my branched, Amazon-flavored version. Still, I don’t know if that’s the right place for Android, for me.

Fiddling with v6

One of the reasons that I like having my own webspace, or at least space that is slightly borrowed and offers freedom for a decent cost, is that I can continue to iterate on ideas and thoughts until I’m satisfied. In a real sense, make my own classroom and lesson plan when I do things like this. That’s one of the reasons that I’ve been going down the idea of a digital business card/landing page, and over the course of the past days, I’ve been playing with the idea of a redesign – one that doesn’t really have much in the way of design.
