It is stuff like this which makes me see so much potential in mobile web servers.
Why wouldn’t a carrier or domain/hosting company want to play the role of gateway, so that a user could plug their mobile right into these networks, and everyone wins with the connectivity and amount of info that’s passed between? It would seem to me a win-win.
Well, I think so.
Update: Like, what keeps a company like 1and1 from offering a packaged mobile web server and CMS, that’s configured to their gateway but has the user’s registered (and paid for) domain name for some set price per month or year. They’d still get the analytics from the traffic, but wouldn’t have the storage and its associated costs.
Makes too much sense to me. Why not?
